Sample ring kit especially designed to comply to the Dutch RAW standard, mainly used for civil engineering construction. Sample diameter 3.8 inch.
This method is used for the determination of the density and the soil moisture content of embankment- or foundation material.
With a drop weight and a guide cylinder, a special stainless steel sample ring with a diameter of 3.7 x 0.47 inch (95.7 x 12 millimeters) and a height of 3.2 inch (81.5 millimeters), is hammered into the soil surface. The density and soil moisture content of the sampled material can then be determined in the laboratory.
