The robust Saturnia FDR soil moisture sensor is fully developed and manufactured in the Netherlands. The probe measures soil moisture, electrical conductivity, and temperature using Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR). FDR technology has already proven itself in applications within the oil & gas industry and satellite sensing.

Thanks to its fully sealed, cable-free design, the sensor can be easily installed vertically in the soil. Data can be transmitted via global mobile networks: 2G, 3G, LTE-M, NB-IoT. Information can be accessed through an API, the ROAK data portal, or Agurotech’s advanced irrigation advisory app.

The sensor can take measurements at different depths, depending on the selected model:
• Short: 15 cm
• Long: 60 cm

Its cable-free construction with IP68 protection makes it easy to install and suitable for long-term in-soil use, with a lifespan of over 10 years.
