The Royal Eijkelkamp HD Video Module consists of a camera and LEDs housed in a rugged unit, which can be mounted behind a 15 cm2 CPT cone. It allows the user to capture video images of the soil and CPT data simultaneously with no loss of productivity.
The HD Video Module is mounted behind a 15 cm2 CPT cone, allowing the user to capture HD video stills simultaneously with CPT data. The high power LEDs allow a fast frame rate ensuring that full speed CPTs can be performed.
The video can be monitored in real time using the surface grabber with integrated display. The module includes a quick connector for digital cones for quick and easy integration to an existing Royal Eijkelkamp Digital CPT system.
Upgrading the system to emit and record UV light, the module can be used to detect the presence of hydrocarbon and other organic compounds within the soil that fluoresce under UV light.
During testing switch and depth encoder data from the CPT system is also read by the video grabber and live depth can be written to the video and image files.
